Bold. Diverse. Visionary. These are just a few of the characteristics we need the next generation of advocates to embody if we want to see local governments shift dollars to address equity and support services aligned with racial justice principles.

After receiving a large volume of applications for our first train-the-trainer style pilot program, those are exactly the type of leaders we are excited to announce as the inaugural cohort. Here are a few of the exceptional individuals that are part of our Funding Racial Justice Budget Advocacy Training for Community Power.

This cohort will join us for a series of five virtual and hands-on sessions where participants will deepen their budget knowledge, receive tools to perform an analysis and lead a budget campaign, and receive one-on-one mentorship and coaching to develop an individual budget campaign project.

We are excited to bring together these passionate California-based racial justice advocates who are invested in their local government’s budget process and want to bring equitable and transformational change for Black, Indigenous, communities of color.

Please join us in congratulating them!
